Safaricom Service Tips

Use Safaricom service tips to learn about your prepaid or postpaid account details without needing to contact a Safaricom customer service staff.
Dial *100# (PrePay) or *200# (PostPay) for Safaricom Self-care services, and *234# for M-PESA-related services to get started.

Here are a few quick and easy services that will save you time and effort.

PUK Number Retrieval

Your SIM card will be locked if you enter the incorrect PIN for your phone three times. No one will be able to guess your PIN if you use this method. A PIN Unlocking Key (PUK) code is required to unlock it.

To obtain your PUK number, follow the instructions below.

From any phone, dial *100*8#.
Please enter your phone number.
Put your national identification number in here.
A text message will be sent to you with your PUK code shortly.

M-PESA is available on the mySafaricom App.

Use the mySafaricom app to access M-PESA services, and make sure you know exactly who you’re paying or transferring money to before you finish your transaction.

You can do the following with M-PESA on the mySafaricom app:

  • No need to manually enter or copy-paste phone numbers when searching contacts in your phonebook.
  • Search and verify with ease. Before making a payment, check the Pay Bill and Buy Goods Till numbers.
  • Before making your withdrawal, check the name of the M-PESA Agent.
  • There are no data charges if you download and use the app.
  • At the touch of a button, you can get your M-PESA statement
Self-service M-PESA

*234# is a free and convenient way to get basic M-PESA related questions answered:

  • Withdrawal and transmitting money transaction fees – Tariff Query
  • Mini-statement including data on the previous five M-PESA transactions.
  • M-Shwari data
  • Make sure your next-of-kin information is up to current.
Self-Service with PrePay

Without needing to speak to a customer service staff, get help with any Safaricom PrePay service.

Simply dial *100# to access basic PrePay services, which is free and convenient. You may also subscribe to numerous products and services by dialing *100#.

Menu gives you access to menus and information that you can make yourself

  • Balance Inquiry, Sambaza, Top-up Other Number, and Mobile Number Information are all available through My Account.
  • Subscriptions to the Internet and Bundles – Purchase Internet data bundles (*544#).
  • Safaricom’s Products & Services – Information & Promotions
  • M-PESA – Access to more M-PESA menu options (*234#)
  • My Subscriptions – Paid SMS Services, such as Skiza and News Messages
  • When the PIN on your SIM card is blocked, you can get a PUK number.
Self-Service with PostPay

Without speaking to a customer service professional, get help with any Safaricom PostPay service.

Simply dial *200# to get basic PostPay services, which is free and convenient. You may also subscribe to various products and services by dialling *200#.

Menu gives you access to menus and information that you can make yourself
