Importance of checking your car wheel camber

As an integral part of vehicle maintenance, chamber adjustment is usually one of the most important checks performed by tire service centers. It has a major impact on tire durability and vehicle safety.

It usually requires using a standardized set to measure the front and rear camber angles as per the manufacturer’s guidelines for each vehicle type. This data is transmitted into a specialized wheel alignment computer, which records it and uses it to correctly align automobiles using a laser beam system attached to the wheel hubs.

What causes misalignment in the wheels?

Off-road use on corrugated roads, accidents, and suspension replacement, to name a few, can all impair wheel alignment. Lack of wheel alignments reduces braking stability, damages tires and suspension elements, and provides an unpleasant ride on rough conditions if left unchecked.

Procedures for wheel alignment

To avoid any long-term damage to the wheels and suspension, alignment is performed as soon as the suspension parts are replaced, or if you have been driving on rough surfaces, or if you have been in an accident.

The majority of tire service centres have automated wheel alignment machines that can measure any vehicle on the market for a reasonable fee. When you arrive, your vehicle will be parked on a ramp and the four wheels will be fitted with laser hubs before measurements begin. After determining the state of your alignment, the technician will make the required adjustments to guarantee that your vehicle is aligned according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Aim to have your car evaluated for wheel alignment every six months or when you change your tires. Some drivers are unaware of the necessity of wheel alignment and tyre balance, and how they might affect tire longevity as well as other mechanical concerns.
