Twitter is fun, but also stressful. For over a decade, the ubiquitous social media platform has voiced the opinions of those with the most followers. So maybe you decided to take a break. Deleting Twitter is very simple. Making this decision requires serious thought. Twitter will ask you to deactivate your account before deleting it.
If you disable Twitter, your account will be blocked for 30 days and if Twitter doesn’t respond, your account will be deleted. When you’re ready to enable and opt out of one of the world’s most popular social media platforms, follow these steps:
- Go to Twitter Go to the Twitter app or website. In the mobile app, click the Settings Privacy or Details button on the website next to …. Search for Accounts or My Account in Settings Privacy.
- Deactivate your account You will see several options in the account area to the right. Click Deactivate Account. Read the information on how to deactivate your account and click Deactivate. Account deactivation has two important functions. Not only will your program name, username, and public profile appear on Twitter, you can restore your account within 30 days.
- Confirm password Enter your password and click the Deactivate Account button to confirm the password deactivation. If you no longer log in for 30 days, your account will be permanently deleted. Deleting will lose all information and allow other users to reuse your username.
