Make sure you have everything ready for your presentation
This is your chance to shine when you have the opportunity to speak in a meeting. Collect material, organize it and earn points in advance. Exercise as needed. Remember that meeting your KPIs isn’t the only goal; you also want to show your managers that you’re capable of more.
Switch on your camera
When you remote working, you can switch off your camera during meetings. From poor internet to “camera troubles,” just about any excuse will suffice to get you off the hook. During a meeting, though, turning on your camera, especially when speaking, provides you visibility. Communication is heavily influenced by facial expressions, gestures, and body language. Your senior colleagues will be able to assess your additional talents if you have your camera on.
Be trustworthy
Instead of continuously apologizing for low connections, get a good internet connection, for example. You will be marked for new opportunities or promotions, training, and pay evaluations if you can be relied upon. You won’t be the first individual selected for redundancy if the company decides to downsize.
